This is a very rare Martin produced in the Georges Flersheim period.
The figure is actually the famous hairdresser ( Le Artist Capillaire ), but then transformed into a conductor.
The product number remained unknown for a long time but after much research it was found in an old auction catalogue of the auction house Chartres from France, in that auction the figure was auctioned with the original box and on the box and in the catalogue text it was shown that the product number is 234 and not 242 as mentioned in other Martin books.

In the photo above you can see that Flersheim also used parts from the former Martin production, here the figure has a mechanism with a typical Martin key
