Our Summer Vintage Toy Auction will feature over 500 great lots from several collections of important long time collectors. Part I of the Michael Kent Gilbert Erector Set collection, large collection of Pressed Steel & Cast Iron vehicles, lifetime collection of early American and European Tin-Toys, important collection of Dinky Military Vehicles including rare boxed sets, individually boxed pieces and loose vehicles, and much more!
Gilbert Collection
We are proud to present the Michael Kent, museum-quality lifetime collection of Gilbert Toys, including Erector Sets, Mysto Magic Sets, and more—offered across a special series of sales. Highlights include boxed and built sets, factory-assembled working models, and a massive inventory of original Erector parts for the serious builder.
Featured is the rare and short-lived Gilbert U-238 Atomic Energy Lab, released in 1950. Marketed as an educational toy, it featured real uranium ore, a Geiger counter, cloud chamber, and experiment guides. Pulled from shelves due to safety concerns and high cost, surviving examples, especially complete and in this excellent condition are hard to come by.
Early Bild Lilli Dolls
Early Bild Lilli dolls, produced in West Germany between 1955 and 1964, are the stylish, precursors to the modern Barbie. Sold as a novelty for adults, these hard plastic dolls featured painted facial details, rooted ponytails, and fashionable outfits. Their sharp design, striking poses, and influence on toy history make early Bild Lilli dolls exceptionally collectible today.
Early Vintage Tin-Toy Collection
A lifetime collection of tin litho wind-up toys by all the major makers. Highlights include a Chein Popeye the Boxer in its original box, classic character toys, a large selection of Lehmann wind-ups, and much more from top European and American manufacturers.
In this auction there is one Victor Bonnet toy with box and one Martin toy (see note )
