Martin and his boats

In Fernand Martin’s entire toy production from its inception in 1878 to the end of Victor Bonnet’s period in 1933, only three boats were produced and all three were manufactured in the first period 1878 – 1895

Part of the patent 128445 from June 25 -1880, the same patent number as his first toy the Fish.

The oldest is from 1879 and is the Le Bateau Godilleur, no production number is known for this toy, but it is one of the first pieces that Martin produced, de lengte is 26.5 cm / 10,43 inch

The second is the fishing boat from 1892 : Le Pêcheur á La Linge, with production number 120 met een lengte van 22 cm / 8,66 inch

The last is the steamboat produced from 1893 with the name: La Chaloupe a Vapeur with production number 125 en een lengte van 27.5 cm / 10,83 inch

All three have the characteristic that they are very rare, another characteristic is that they were moved by means of the rubber band mechanism
