Chand’ Tonneaux – The Barrel Walker from 1906 – number 207

Produced from 1906
Product number 207
Hand lacquered
Mechanism: Clockwork
Height approx. 19 cm / 7,5 inches

A man walking down the street with his two wine barrels.
While walking, the two wine barrels roll along with the man’s pace.
The mechanism and the winding key are mounted in the man.
The barrels are both connected, on the underside, to the man with a rod and because the barrels are at an angle and touch the ground near his feet, they will turn along, the hands on top of the barrels are not mounted in the middle but on the side, while walking you can see the arms are making the same rotating livelike movement of the barrels.
